South East Open Studios

Every year during the month of June, I open my studios as part of South East Open Studios. The event has been an incredible platform for me to show my work, do demonstrations and take commissions, as well as sell my ready-made collections.
The success of the event has a lot to do with the fact that visitors are genuinely interested in meeting artists and learning about their craft, as well as wanting to own original and unique works of art for their homes and gardens.
I really look forward to open studios, as it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and to see my returning clients again, who enjoy coming back year after year to see my new range of homeware.
One of the attractions at my open studios is that I do demonstrations throughout and I provide an on going workshop area for children and adults alike, who want to have a go at making a mosaic. This creates a real buzz of creativity and a sense of learning something new that is as ancient as the hills!
Many visitors comment on my collection of vintage china and often recognize many of the patterns and designs that they grew up with. I find these conversations very rewarding as they always open up an interesting dialogue of nostalgia and reminiscence that I find fascinating.
