Mosaic Mum featured in Kent life magazine

Whatever you do, don’t miss out on this months copy of Kent Life magazine, featuring a fantastic article about a collection of artists, including myself, who are taking part in the South East Open Studios event in June 2022.

This will be the 25th anniversary year of SEOS, and there are nearly 300 artists across Kent involved.  The range of talent and skills on show is extremely varied, from mosaics through to Blacksmithing, ceramics and jewellery, as well as painting, printmaking and sculpture.  There’s so much to see, that many visitors plan their tour of artists studios, and make a day of it.  That’s all part of the adventure, visiting places and meeting people that you would never normally get the chance to do!

It’s my seventh year of open studios and I’m so thrilled to be featured in this article written by Anna Lambert, the editor at Kent Life.  I’m very grateful to have been chosen for the article, amongst so many other professional artists within our supportive community at SEOS.  A big thank you to Anna and her team at Kent Life for producing an exciting round up of what will be our best year yet, I hope!!!

I look forward to welcoming visitors to my studio during June and inspiring people to try out the art of mosaic at my demonstration table.  I also look forward to talking about vintage ceramics and how joyful they can for making mosaics, following the ‘picassiette’ method of using old crockery.  For more details about my studio opening times, click here.

I have been working hard to create new work for the event, which will be on show in my new exhibition space, an old converted barn next to my gamekeepers cottage, where they used to hang the pheasants and partridge after the gaming shoots.  I will be providing refreshments, including tea and cake to all those in need of a little sustenance on their artist studio trail.  Look out for our free guides, available in May, from most outlets around Kent, including libraries, super markets, pubs and local shops.

The online guide is available now, just head over to the South East Open Studios website, click here.

Please get in touch if you would like to make an appointment to visit my studio, book a workshop or mosaic masterclass, or visit my shop if you would like to purchase a ready made mosaic for your home or garden.
